By God's Grace...

Good Shepherd Christian Academy is an independent, educational institution. Founded by Bishop C. D. Kinsey in 1977, (as a Daycare), and becoming established as an Academy in 1983, we have served thousands of children in the Jacksonville area. Believing that “with God all things are possible,” our children are taught on an accelerated curriculum that gives a greater foundation for future academic achievement. We admit students of any race/color/nationality/ethnic origin giving them access to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally made available to our students. We do not discriminate on any basis in the administration of our educational policies or admissions.

Mission

The mission of Good Shepherd Christian Academy is to cultivate each student through a high-quality Christian education in an environment that develops students spiritually, artistically, intellectually, and socially.

Vision

GSCA exists to influence future generations by providing a Christian education that fully prepares them to soar academically and fulfill their God-ordained calling.

Our purpose is to provide a challenging curriculum that will encourage intellectual, spiritual, physical and social growth.

Being a private institution, we are able to focus on a more intimate style of teaching. This program begins at Kindergarten and is carried out through the 8th grade. It has been found that, with more personal attention, students can revamp their way of thinking to how the world fits around them instead of how they fit into the world. This program has many benefits for today’s generation:

  • Children will learn the importance of education at an early age.

  • The teacher/student ratio is from 1/10 to 1/15.

  • Children are encouraged to work independently as well as in groups.

  • Children have full-time administrators available to discuss any problems and provide Christian counseling and/or encouragement.

  • Parents are allowed and encouraged to come and see the things that their children are learning so they can reinforce the work at home. Visitors need only check-in with the front office before going to the classroom.
